Many people think a large group is tough to work with. It can be,but not this family. Despite the sweltering day, they were great and super easy to photograph. I love this large group shot of the entire family :)
Sometimes, capturing images of a little one is tough. Let's be honest, not many children enjoy sitting still. I don't even like to sit still! Even if they do still still, getting a natural smile that their parents know and love can be a challenge. This however is just part of the business and a common issue I handle with during photo shoots. Sometimes, though there is a child that is so easy to work with, I think to myself, "Is this for real? Where are the hidden cameras?"
A sparkling soul, this young girl was a natural. From her glowing smile to her willingness to trust me upon just meeting me, was impressive.
Fall is my favorite time to photograph families & children. Well, maybe Spring is..... Ok, I just love every season.
What I do love to do the most is photograph good friends and their children. Just take a look you can see the love in their images. I have even photographed the youngest as a newborn! Seriously children grow so fast.

As parent, I love shooting milestone birthdays like a first birthday. What is especially wonderful is when the client, is a tiny little toddler who I once photographed as a newborn! It signifies so much more than just their first birthday. For their parents it signifies an exciting year of learning, growing, struggling and accomplishments. For the child, it is a much more oblivious accomplishment.
For myself, it means a client is returning. Meaning what I am providing is important, meaningful and valued. All the headaches of running a business go away when I see little guy's face light up. It is all worth it.
Fall family photo sessions are most likely my favorite types of sessions. The turning leaves and the cool crisp air makes for a beautiful landscape and wonderful weather to work in. While the beginning of Fall usually signifies the end of a cycle, or the winter coming in, fall can also be rejuvenating. Time to get ready to spend time reflecting with family & friends and looking towards the new year.
This family has grown quite a bit since I first met them. Finally I got to meet the grandparents to four beautiful boys I have been photographing for a couple of years! Full circle!
Whether we like to admit it, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here before we know it! Along with holidays come the craziness of scheduling holiday photos to send out to loved ones and on our Christmas cards! As a mom of two I completely understand all the chaotic planning that goes into giving our families a memorable Christmas and holiday season.
That is why this year, I will not only be offering outdoor holiday photo sessions, but a select amount of indoor sessions as well!
Part of the criteria of looking for a new home to fit our family, was to have an exclusive space for my work. And guess what? We found it.
My studio will be the perfect size for newborn photo shoots, baby's milestones, & children's portraits! I want to stay true to my love of the outdoors and capturing families in natural settings, but sometimes mother nature does not place nice!
So stay tuned for more information on Christine Wans Photography's new studio and if you are interested in getting an indoor spot contact me now!
This sweet young couple are expecting their first baby boy this July! As soon as I met Kat & Jan, I could feel the strength in their relationship. As beautiful a couple they make, they were also very kind. You could see it in their body language, in their voice, even in the early moments of the shoot where Kat was a bit nervous.
In no time, she loosened up and I got to capture some beautiful moments of Mom & Dad before their little guy arrived. These photo are memories they will have forever, and never fade.
This session was super fun and extra special! After 10 years plus, I was hired by one of my old college roommates! The last time we saw each other, we were both childless, and husband-less, and a lot younger! Seeing her as a mother was so wonderful.
Here are a few from their session - which I might add was a breeze because they were so natural in front of the camera!
I really love these two munchkins. After meeting them over a year ago, for their first portraits, I was thrilled when mom contacted me for holiday photos over the winter, then again this spring for a session! Here are a few of my favorites, but it was hard to chose because they were all so sweet!
Here is a quick peek at my latest newborn.....a sweet baby girl.
Every once in a while, I get a request from a friend that I have not heard from in years. This event was one of them. An old friend got in touch with me and asked if I could photograph her parents anniversary party. Of course I took the job as it would be a fun day with people I have fond childhood memories of. The event was at lovely Perona Farms in Sparta, New Jersey. Celebrating 40 years of marriage (yikes! it IS possible) their family all gathered to celebrate the mother and father who made it all happen. It was great seeing my old friend - and her parents. Congratulations again!
